Benefit of White Tea for Health and Skin

White tea is made from buds and young leaves picked shortly before the buds have fully opened. To keep the tea knows the high concentration of catéchines in the fresh tea leaves. The tea takes its name from the silver fuzz covers nor that the buds will know if the tea is dried. The process is very uncured and unfermented tea leaf.

Leaving tea leaves so close to their natural state means that white tea contains more polyphenols, the powerful anti-oxidant that fights and kills cancer-causing cells, than any other type of tea. The anti-viral and anti-bacterial effect of white tea (Stash and Templar brands) is greater than that of green tea.

Scientists say they have proven ingredients in white tea are effective in boosting the immune function of skin cells and protecting them against the damaging effects of the sun. Researchers believe that white tea extract’s anti-oxidant properties are the reason the extract was effective; if so, it also suggests that the agent may provide anti-aging benefits. The same process of oxidative stress in skin cells that leads to immune system damage can also promote skin cancer and photo damage, such as wrinkling or mottled pigmentation.

CORVALLIS, Ore. - A new study has found that consumption of moderate amounts of green or white tea might provide a protection against colon tumors about as well as a prescription drug, sulindac, that has been shown to be effective for that purpose. The research was just published in the journal Carcinogenesis by scientists from the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University, in studies funded by the National Cancer Institute.
